EIM TIMELINE 2019 to 2022

2019 The proposal is made that EIM “absorbs the New Mexico Pilgrimage for Unity, LLC, as a program under one of its offering streams.…” This later becomes a reality when, on November 14, an agreement is signed by Thomas Skorupa, EIM Secretary, and Michael Pitchford. Revisioning and renewal work continues.
2020 In January, the MTS Committee is disbanded by Rev. Dr. Kay Huggins, EIM Chair, and Abbot Joel Garner, MTS Committee Chair. Michael Pitchford dies on February 5. The EIM Mission Statement arrived at through the revisioning process, is finalized and approved. Covid 19 concerns limit the number of meetings – which are conducted virtually. The Pilgrimage for Unity sponsors individual pilgrimages. EIM supports Winter Talk both financially and through participation. Dr. Wallace Ford, one of EIM’s founders and long-time MTS instructor, dies on November 28.
2021 Covid 19 protocols continue. Rev. Dr. Kay Huggins, long-time EIM Board member and chair, MTS instructor, and NM MTS Associate Director for several months through the years, resigns as chair. Kim Fields-Haley is elected as chair. Kay agrees to continue as the Pilgrimage for Unity Consultant. The Pilgrimage for Unity continues to sponsor individual pilgrimages (pilgrimages in place) as well as a pilgrimage in remembrance of Fr. Graham Golden, O. Praem. Lang Ha Pham is invited to join the EIM Board as an ex officio member representing the Pilgrimage for Unity. Archbishop Wester, Dr. Jenn Bonds-Raacke, SNC Provost, Dr. Jennifer Hockenbery, SNC Dean of Humanities, and Dr. Howard Ebert, Director of the MTS program, participate in the commencement for six MTS graduates.
The EIM Bylaws are updated and approved. Rev. Carol Mcgowen is elected as chair, Louise Nielsen is elected as vice chair, Rev. Kelly Brooks is elected as Secretary and Dcn. Keith Davis is elected as treasurer. A committee is established to begin exploring the possibility of, in NM, offering a Spiritual Skills Program, similaar to that which, under the MTS umbrella in De Pere, grants one CPE unit to students successfully completing the two-semester course.
